{"id":2051,"date":"2024-09-20T10:11:49","date_gmt":"2024-09-20T15:11:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dmentd.com\/blog\/?p=2051"},"modified":"2024-11-08T16:34:26","modified_gmt":"2024-11-08T22:34:26","slug":"instant-pot-chicken-teriyaki-instant-pot-eats","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dmentd.com\/blog\/instant-pot-chicken-teriyaki-instant-pot-eats","title":{"rendered":"Chicken Teriyaki (Instant Pot)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2\u00bc LB chicken thigh boneless and skinless (cut in large cubes)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00be C chicken stock<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">For Teriyaki Sauce:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u00be C soy sauce low-sodium<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 TBS rice wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00bd TBS sesame oil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5 garlic cloves (minced or grated)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00bd TSP fresh ginger (minced or grated)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 TBS honey<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>To Finish:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1\u00bd TBS light brown sugar or white sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\u00bd TSP butter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 TSP cornstarch<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sesame seeds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Accompaniment:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Steamed rice<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Steamed broccoli<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cut the chicken thighs and set them aside.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Whisk the teriyaki sauce ingredients in a bowl.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the chicken to the sauce and stir through to coat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set up the Instant Pot. Add \u00bd cup of chicken stock or water to the bottom.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the chicken and all the marinade. Spread the pieces evenly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Secure and lock the lid. Set to Pressure Cook for 10 minutes on HIGH. The Instant Pot should take about 5-7 minutes to come to pressure. Once cooked, natural release the pressure for 5-10 minutes and then quick release the remaining steam. Then, open the lid.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare the sides in the meantime. Prepare the rice ahead of time and steam broccoli while the chicken is cooking.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once the timer is done, open the lid.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the additional tablespoon of sugar and press the Saute function (Normal mode) and allow the sauce to come to a boil. Cook on simmer, stirring frequently until half of the liquid has evaporated and the sauce has thickened quite a bit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Note: Taste the sauce to make sure sugar and salt are balanced, you can add a little more soy sauce or salt or sugar as needed. If it feels like it needs a little more acidity, you add a tiny splash of rice wine vinegar or lemon juice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Finish with a teaspoon of butter (for shine and richness) and if needed to thicken the sauce further, make a flour and water slurry and stir it into the sauce right at the end.
