{"id":2143,"date":"2024-11-08T10:35:25","date_gmt":"2024-11-08T16:35:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dmentd.com\/blog\/?p=2143"},"modified":"2025-10-03T20:26:04","modified_gmt":"2025-10-04T01:26:04","slug":"salisbury-steak-meatballs-instant-pot-stove-slow-cooker","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dmentd.com\/blog\/salisbury-steak-meatballs-instant-pot-stove-slow-cooker","title":{"rendered":"Salisbury Steak Meatballs (Stove-Top, Slow Cooker, Instant Pot)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>5 OZ mushrooms, divided (sliced &amp; minced)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 LG onion, divided (minced)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>8 cloves garlic, divided (minced fine)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 LB 93% lean ground beef<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 LB 93% lean ground turkey<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2154 C seasoned breadcrumbs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 LG egg (beaten)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 TBS tomato paste, divided<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2\u00bd C reduced sodium beef broth, divided<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kosher salt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pinch black pepper<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 TBS olive oil, divided<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 TBS all-purpose flour<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 TSP red wine vinegar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 TSP Worcestershire sauce, to taste<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd TSP mustard powder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">For The Meatballs<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Finely mince 2 OZ of mushrooms, 4 cloves of garlic and half of the onion into small pieces (using a food processor if available).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In a large bowl, combine the minced vegetables, with the ground beef, ground turkey, bread crumbs, egg, 2 TBS tomato paste, \u00bd C of the beef broth, 1\u00bd TSP salt and \u00bc TSP black pepper.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Using a #40 (\u00be OZ, purple handle) disher scoop, gently shape into 56 small meatballs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Place on a lined half-sheet pan and bake at 375\u00b0 for 30 &#8211; 35 minutes or until well browned. Can also be done on the stove-top, working in batches.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">For The Sauce<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In a small bowl, blend flour and 2 C broth until smooth. Mix in remaining 2 TBS tomato paste, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and mustard powder.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Stove-Top Method:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In a large deep skillet or dutch oven pre-heat the olive oil and saut\u00e9e remaining onions until translucent. Add remaining garlic and saut\u00e9e until fragrant.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Slice the the remaining mushrooms then add to the pan along with the meatballs. Add \u00bc TSP salt and a pinch of black pepper. Pour the sauce over the meatballs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stir, cover and cook low heat for 25 minutes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Garnish with parsley and serve.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Slow Cooker Method:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Add the remaining onions and garlic to the pot. Slice the the remaining mushrooms then add to the pan along with the meatballs. Add \u00bc TSP salt and a pinch of black pepper. Pour the sauce over the meatballs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stir, cover and cook low 6 to 8 hours, until tender.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Garnish with parsley and serve.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Instant Pot Method:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Heat the Instant Pot on saute, pre-heat the olive oil and saut\u00e9e remaining onions until translucent. Add remaining garlic and saut\u00e9e until fragrant.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Slice the the remaining mushrooms then add to the pan along with the meatballs. Add \u00bc TSP salt and a pinch of black pepper.
