{"id":2259,"date":"2024-11-11T14:28:08","date_gmt":"2024-11-11T20:28:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dmentd.com\/blog\/?p=2259"},"modified":"2024-11-11T14:28:08","modified_gmt":"2024-11-11T20:28:08","slug":"butter-chicken-instant-pot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dmentd.com\/blog\/butter-chicken-instant-pot","title":{"rendered":"Butter Chicken (Instant Pot)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2 LB boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts (cut into bite-size pieces)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 TBS butter, or ghee<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 LG onion (chopped)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>8-10 cloves garlic (minced)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 TBS fresh ginger (peeled and grated)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 TSP curry powder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 TSP Garam Masala<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 TSP salt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00be teaspoon smoked paprika<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd C water or chicken stock<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>15 OZ canned tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 C heavy cream<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chopped cilantro for garnish<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Place the butter, chopped onions, garlic, ginger, and all spices in the Instant Pot. Set on Saut\u00e9 for 5 minutes. Stir to make sure the ingredients don&#8217;t burn. Once the onions are soft, turn off.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pour \u00bd cup water or chicken stock into the pot. Use a wooden spoon to scrub the debris off the bottom of the pot.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the chopped chicken thighs and canned tomato. Lock the lid into place and turn the Instant Pot on Pressure Cook High for 7 minutes. Once finished, turn the Instant Pot Off, then perform a Quick Release to release the steam pressure. Once the valve button drops, unlock the lid and remove.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stir in the heavy cream. Set the Instant Pot on Saut\u00e9 again and simmer for 2-5 minutes to thicken the sauce. Sprinkle with chopped cilantro and serve with basmati rice.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">NOTE:<\/span><\/strong> You can make this recipe in the slow cooker. Follow step 1 on the stove top, then transfer the onions and spices to a slow cooker. Add the tomato sauce and chopped chicken. Cover and slow cook for 6-8 hours on low.
