{"id":2496,"date":"2024-11-15T16:54:09","date_gmt":"2024-11-15T22:54:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dmentd.com\/blog\/?p=2496"},"modified":"2024-11-15T16:54:55","modified_gmt":"2024-11-15T22:54:55","slug":"fongs-mandarin-chicken-nola","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dmentd.com\/blog\/fongs-mandarin-chicken-nola","title":{"rendered":"Fong&#8217;s Mandarin Chicken &#8211; NOLA"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>From Fong&#8217;s Chinese Restaurant in Kenner, La.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Batter:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2 C flour<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 TBSs cooking oil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 eggs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 C cornstarch<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 TSP salt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 TSP Accent<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd TSP sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd TSP baking powder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd TSP baking soda<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 drops yellow food coloring<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 C water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Gravy:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2 C oil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 C flour<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 C chicken broth<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 TBSs sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 TBS salt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 TBS soy sauce<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 TBS Accent<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 TBSs Kitchen Bouquet<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Other:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>De-boned chicken parts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deep fat for frying<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Shredded lettuce<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chopped green onion tops<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Batter:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mix all ingredients in the two cups of water and let sit at room temperature for four hours, then refrigerate.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Gravy:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Heat oil and add flour; cook until brown.
