{"id":345,"date":"2001-09-09T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2001-09-09T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2001-09-09T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2001-09-09T00:00:00","slug":"345","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dmentd.com\/blog\/345","title":{"rendered":"Tuna Casserole"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>1 small onion (chopped)<br \/>\n\u00bc TSP white pepper<br \/>\n1 bunch green onion (chopped)<br \/>\n1 LB spiral broad noodles or cut macaroni<br \/>\n2\u00bd C milk<br \/>\n4 TBS butter or margarine<br \/>\n14 OZ dry packed tuna<br \/>\n5 TBS Wondra flour<br \/>\n8 OZ sharp cheddar cheese (grated)<br \/>\n1\u00bd TSP salt<br \/>\n12 OZ tiny green peas (optional)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Temperature:<\/strong> 350<\/p>\n<p>Boil the noodles in salted water, drain and return to the pot.  Saute the onion and green onion in a saucepan with 1 TSP of olive oil.  Add the milk, flour, butter, salt and pepper.  Cook while stirring constantly until thickened and just reaching a boil.  Add the tuna.  Pour the sauce over the noodles and mix well.  Put in a 2 QT baking dish sprayed with a release.  Cover the top with grated cheddar and bake until the cheese melts and the casserole is hot in the center and bubbling on the edges.
