{"id":741,"date":"2009-01-12T20:27:50","date_gmt":"2009-01-13T02:27:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dmentd.com\/?p=741"},"modified":"2024-11-18T14:53:41","modified_gmt":"2024-11-18T20:53:41","slug":"leeks-grilled-braised-alton-brown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dmentd.com\/blog\/leeks-grilled-braised-alton-brown","title":{"rendered":"Leeks, Grilled &amp; Braised &#8211; Alton Brown"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>4 large leeks (dark green sections removed)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 TBS bacon drippings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 TBS balsamic vinegar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kosher salt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Crumbled bacon and goat cheese (optional, as an accompaniment)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Preheat the grill to high.\u00a0Cut each leek in half lengthwise and rinse thoroughly to remove all dirt and sand. Pat dry.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Brush the cut side of each leek half with the bacon drippings and sprinkle with kosher salt.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grill over direct, high heat, cut side down, with lid closed, approximately 6 to 7 minutes or until grill marks appear.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remove the leeks to a sheet of aluminum foil and lay cut side up.
