{"id":756,"date":"2009-01-12T23:33:49","date_gmt":"2009-01-13T05:33:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dmentd.com\/?p=756"},"modified":"2024-11-18T14:24:32","modified_gmt":"2024-11-18T20:24:32","slug":"caramel-corn-sb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dmentd.com\/blog\/caramel-corn-sb","title":{"rendered":"Caramel Corn &#8211; SB"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1 C popcorn kernels (unpopped)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 C light brown sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bd C light corn syrup<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>8 OZ margarine<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u00bc TSP cream or tartar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 TSP salt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 TSP baking soda<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Oven:<\/strong> 200\u00b0 F<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pop the popcorn accordingly, and set aside in a large deep pan (a roasting pan works well).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In a 2\u00bd QT saucepan melt the margarine and remove from the heat.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add the brown sugar, corn syrup, cream of tartar and salt. Mix well, then bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Cook to 260\u00b0 F.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remove the mixture from the heat and stir in the baking soda quickly, but thoroughly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pour at once over the popcorn and stir gently until all kernels are covered.\u00a0Bake for 1 hour, stirring 2 to 3 times.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Turn out at once onto a parchment lined sheet pan. Spread apart and cool completely.
